Hello all,
I have a question about a contract I'm meant to sign this week. I've recently been added to a translation agency's pool of translators. They have sent me an update to our contract and want me to sign it. On this contract, the part about purchase orders and accepting them says: "In case the Translator hasn't reacted to a Purchase Order under 48 hours, they shall be deemed to have accepted the conditions of the purchase order" (I'm paraphrasing a bit).
Basically it says that if they send me a work offer and I don't reply for two days, it'll mean the work has been assigned to me and is now due to them. I find this a bit iffy. I'm afraid this clause would be used when I'm on holiday or at the weekend (I make a point of not checking my emails when off) and would force me to accept such work.
I know it's a small detail but it really rubs me the wrong way. Have you had experience with something like this?
